Water Filters made Easy At![]() |

| Hello: I am just starting to put together a plan for a two stage whole home water filter system. I am going to use two 10" housings (GE GXWH35F) but need to know what the best filter elements would be to install. I'm thinking one sediment and one GAC however I am looking for advice on the ideal set-up. I have not had my water tested yet however I am planning to get this done soon. I get city water (Toronto, Canada) but it is a 90 year old home (copper upgraded plumping in home, not sure of city side). I have noticed my water is a little cloudy though. I will also be installing meters to monitor the filters but which readings are the best to follow, GPM or PSI? Thanks for your help! |

| Because your water is treated municipal, you can use a pleated cellulose in stage 1, probably 5 micron. You should avoid a regular GAC, as this will have bad pressure drop and poor flow. Our part # RFC-BB will be a much better choice. It's still a GAC, but in a radial flow designed to offer lower pressure drop and better flow. It's the most commonly used whole house filter on the market today. |
