Water Filters made Easy At![]() |

| I have a "big blue" water filter system in my house. I have used a variety of replacement filters, all with mixed results. The problem is that after 7-10 days, most of them are so inefficient that they are already "full" and the water pressure drops significantly. What replacement filter do you recommend? I have tried various GE, westinghouse, etc from Lowes and homedepot, including GE 1 In. Whole House Replacement Carbon Sediment Filter Model FXHTC Any help would be appreciated. |

| You should try this cartridge: Culligan RFC-BBS water filter, Pentek RFC-BB replacement filters, and Ametek RFCBB filter cartridges 155141 It is designed to allow high flow rates, and have low pressure drop. Are you on well water? The problem might be caused by sediment if you don't have a sediment pre-filter. Carbon filter are very poor at capturing sediment, having a sediment pre-filter is often very useful in extending the life of a carbon filter, especially on well water where there is almost always some kind of sediment problem.
