Re: Big Blue Water Filter Take a hair dryer, and heat the cap and the sump where they join together. Do not get over zealous and use an actual heat gun. A hair dryer will be sufficient. It will take 15 or 20 minutes to get it warm enough, but this will cause the material to expand just enough to make things loosen up. When you reattach the sump lubricate the threads on the cap and the sump with food grade silicone grease, and lots of it. Doing so will make this problem a part of your history.
