Default Filter Container WHCF-DWHBB on a well with softener

I have a filter container WHCF-DWHBB on a well with a softener. The water was tested for bacteria and nitrates and looks good. The water has a slight smell. What is a good filter replacement and how often do I need to replace it? The current filter has not been replaced in over a year. Also, what do I need to do to maintain the softener?

For an odor problem, this is your filter: Pentek DBC-10EX2 Bacteriostatic KDF and GAC Water Filters 255748-43

Your softener needs softener salt in the brine tank on a regular basis. Never let it get empty.

Thank you,
