Default CP5-BB Filter vs. Calcium Deposits...Hard Water

We are currently using the cp5-bb filter. We are experiencing more calcium deposits over the last year or so. Presumably attributed to hard well water. Do you have a filter cartridge that you recommend for high calcium or is a water softening system our only choice? We really don’t care to “soften” the water. Just want the calcium deposits to stop clogging the dishwasher spray arms nozzles.

A water softener is the best option, but a second choice would be polyphosphate injection. You would use a filter housing like this: Culligan HF-160 Whole House Water Filter Housing and Culligan HF160 System 150389 with this cartridge: PCC-1 phosphate crystal water filter and Pentek PCC-1 hexametaphosphate crystal filters 155100

Polyphosphate is a sequestering agent. It will neuralize the hardness minerals, by coating the metal surfaces with a microscopic coating. Making it impossible for hardness minerals to bond to those surfaces. It will also make it difficult for harness minerals to precipitate into particulate.

It's not a s good as softening, but it's an option for water with less than 15grains of hardness.

Thank you,
