Default Water Softener with metered controller

I am looking to purchase a water softener with a metered controller. I would think a capacity of 64000 grains would be sufficient.
The water analysis is as follows, hardness 504.58 mg/l, Iron 5.05 mg/l, manganese .04 mg/l. Water usage per day 300 gal.
Please advise.

With Iron that high, it really would be better to have a separate iron removal system pre-softener, however, if this is not an option it can be done with a softener with some additional accessories. You will need a system with two cubic feet of resin and a resin cleaner drip feed. The drip feed will continuously feed a special resin cleaner in to the brine solution to assist in removing the iron from the resin. Without this feature the resin will definitely foul with iron. The softener will have a metered valve like the one pictured here: SFT-150DM-WF Metered Water Softener with Clack CK10 Valve but the tank will be slightly larger to accommodate two cubic feet of resin.

Thank you,

With iron and hardness that high, you may want to consider a twin-tank softener. They will provide endless treated water and clean themselves with treated water. This will help the system and resins last laonger and increase efficiency over time.
