Default Whole House Filter Unit

I am interested in a whole house filter unit(s). Basically, I am looking for the best I can get or closest to a RO system with either a 2 or 3 unit filter system for the whole house. My biggest concerns are chlorine (city water), bugs, and general overall water purity.

What would you recommend for the system and the 1 - 2 & 3 filters?
