Simple Sediment Filter... Culligan US-550

I already have an under sink water filter, and I want to add a simple sediment filter to it to keep it from clogging. The connections on the existing filter are 3/8" .Would you recommend the Culligan US- 550 for this purpose? If so which filter cartridge would work best? D10? D20? Do you have another recommendation besides the one mentioned above?
