GE MXRC Refrigerator Water Filter

I am wonder about the GE MXRC Refrigerator Water Filter. Will this unit replace the FXRT w/out an adapter?

The recommended replacement for the FXRT is the MWF with the Adapter,
it will not work without the adapter.
GE Culligan FXRT Water Filter and GE FXRT Refrigerator Water Filter for GE refrigerator dispensers.
