| I have a hydrosonic humidifier. It causes small amounts of a white dust to settle around the apartment. This is apparently caused by the sodium and calcium in our water. I would imagine that other minerals could also cause this white dust. To my knowledge, our water is not excessively hard and is not softened. I would like to find a way to filter out the minerals that are causing the white dust. I would also like the benefits of removing chlorine and other such things from City water. I'd rather not use a reverse osmosis system because I don't agree with the water waste that occurs. I would also like to keep modifications to the plumbing to a minimum. Are there any water filters that could help me with this? Do I need to test the water first? Thanks. |

| Reverse Osmosis is the best path, because it removes everything that’s dissolved in the water. When you factor the amount of water used just for drinking and for a humidifier, it’s really not that much |
