Default System to Process Contaminated Well Water

I am looking for a system that can process my contaminated well water for my home.

I have had the water tested several times over the last several years, the results vary, but there are four compounds that consistently show as very high. I will give the HIGHEST reading we have ever received for these four constituents:

Chloride -- 3870 mg/l

TDS -- 5,620 mg/l

Sodium -- 2300 mg/l

Toluene -- 1.1

The other compounds that were tested for are either within normal ranges, or not considered a health risk.

There are only two very water conscious people living in our home, so we only need a daily output of 50 to 100 gallons per day on average. Also, as we drink bottled water, we do not need to get pure water. We only need to get the nasty compounds within a range that will not create any health risks or cause excessive corrosion to the copper pipes.

I know the system we need is not cheap, that’s why we are shopping around. With this information can you:

Recommend a whole house system w/pricing?
Give us an estimate of the cost of replacement membranes and how often you think we would have to change them?

Your time and expertise will be appreciated.

The only effective and efficient way to deal with water contaminated like yours is with Reverse Osmosis. RO is the only way to remove the high levels of chlorides and TDS, both of which are insanely high.

Even if you are not drinking this water, it is still very hard on your plumbing and water using appliances.

You would probably be looking at 3-4 thousand for an RO system and a storage tank, and 6-8 hundred for a calcite neutralizing filter to balance the PH of the RO water and keep it from being acidic.

Thank you,
