Default Chlorine & Pharmaceutical Contamination

We just moved into a house that has public water. We knew just by looking at the water that there's too much iron & manganese in it and got a filter for that. We'd like to add a filter that will eliminate the cholorine & other undesireable things in the water. Like we keep hearing on the news about how residuals of medications are in the water supply and we definitely want to eliminate that. Can you please suggest a filter for us?
