Default Rid of Chlorine and Fluoride

Is there any filtration system that will filter out both chlorine and fluoride? If not, what combination of filtration systems might be good?

Default Re: Rid of Chlorine and Fluoride

For Drinking Water:
The best type of system for filtering out chlorine and fluoride is a Reverse Osmosis System. The RO membrane in the system is able to remove fluoride from the water. The filters in the RO system are able to remove the chlorine.

All of our RO systems are located here:

These type of systems are used for drinking water and a separate faucet needs to be installed for the drinking water. All of these systems come with a drinking water faucet. Some people like to upgrade their faucet to a certain type of finish. All of our faucets are located here if you would like to order a separate faucet:

For Whole House Water Systems:
http://www.waterfilters.net/culligan/wholehouse/housings/20_BigBlue.htm - You will need a whole house housing like the #20 Big Blue Housing. Then, you can select the filter to go inside of the housing.
http://www.waterfilters.net/culligan/wholehouse/replacement_filters/GAC-20BB.htm - The GAC-20BB is a really good chlorine reduction filter for your whole house or commercial applications.
http://www.waterfilters.net/Pentek/wholehouse/Carbon_Filters/CBC-20BB.htm - The CBC-20BB reduces chlorine and cysts. The flow rate is slower since it also reduces cysts and sediment down to 0.5 microns.

http://www.waterfilters.net/culligan/wholehouse/replacement_filters/DGD-5005-20.htm - It's a good idea to install a sediment filter first in line before your chlorine filter. This will reduce the sediment from your water before it reaches your chlorine filter. The sediment filter helps to preserve the more expensive carbon filter. You would need two #20 Big Blue whole house housings for this. Or, you can get a two housing system that is plumbed together such as this one:

Filters are great for removing chlorine for your whole house but there aren't many options for fluoride reduction. Here is a filter for fluoride reduction but it is only 2-7/8" W x 9-3/4" L. This filter is smaller so it would restrict the flow to the whole house too much. You can use it in a smaller whole house housing or a countertop housing.

http://www.waterfilters.net/culligan/wholehouse/housings/HF360.htm - The fluoride filter can fit in the HF-360 housing.
http://www.waterfilters.net/Countertop-Water-Filter-System-QMP602_p_0-565.html - The fluoride filter can also fit in this countertop system.

For Countertop Water Systems:
For drinking water from a countertop system, you could purchase a two-stage countertop system and use a chlorine filter and a fluoride filter in the system.

http://www.waterfilters.net/KX-Matrikx-32-250-125-975-Water-Filter_p_0-529.html - Use this filter in the first stage.
http://www.waterfilters.net/Crystal-Quest-CQE-RC-04006-Fluoride-Water-Filter_p_0-2083.html - Use this filter in the 2nd stage.
