Default Chlorine Dioxide

I work for Long Beach Water Department. We are now building a small bench scale test set up to test the effect of chlorine dioxide on a reverse osmosis membrane. We have a set up where chlorine dioxide is constantly fed into the feed flow into the membrane. The effluent coming out of the membrane will be recirculated back into the feed tank. We are now looking for ways to remove chlorine dioxide that is recirculated into the feed tank. My supervisor suggested a carbon catridge filter. Do you carry the type of filter that can effectively remove chlorine dioxide?

We have many carbon filters that remove both chlorine and chloromine. For example, see here:

However, I am not yet familiar with a filter that specifically reduces chlorine dioxide. I would think the above filter may well reduce chlorine dioxide, but I am not certain. I can look into this more if you would like. What kind (drinking water/ whole house/ industrial/ etc) and quanitites are you hoping to find?

Thank you,

Thank you for your reply. Yes please. I would very appreciate it if you can help me finding the appropriate filter. We will be testing the following three types of water:
DI water,
32,000 ppm of NaCl,
seawater that has been filtered through 0.1 micron filtration.

Chlorine dioxide will be constantly added into the feed water at constant rate to maintain a variety of residuals through out the experiment. Concentration of chlorine dioxide will be in the range of 0.1 mg/L - 2 mg/L.

Actually, I just did the experiment without the presence of the filter, and was able to keep a steady chlorine dioxide dose. However, something is "melting" the membrane, and we think it's the free chlorine in the system. So, is there a filter that can remove free chlorine AND chlorine dioxide?

The filter that you suggested, Will I need a housing for it? I have a regular 10" L industrial housing I purchased from cole palmer. Will this suffice?

You can use the GAC filter for both chlorine dioxide and free chlorine for similar efficiencies. http://www.waterfilters.net/culligan/wholehouse/replacement_filters/GAC-20BB.htm
