| I have the large whole house filter system. I use the ap 810 5 micron filter. The filters are nasty with rust when I replace them currently 3 months apart. The rust still builds up on the toilets after a while. Is this just the water softner not running enough, or is there a better filter for the hard water rust. I have a well and am located in Northeast WI. Thanks |

| Iron is among the most difficult contaminants to remove from water. You could try regenerating your softener more frequently. You could also add an additional filter housing, which would extend the life of your filter cartridges, and improve overall filtration. Thank you, WaterFilters.NET |
