GE cartridge FXHTC

I use the GE cartridge FXHTC to filter clorine before my water softner. Is there a better product that this filter ??

Here are some options for you :

NCP-BB carbon water filters and Pentek NCPBB filter cartridge 155398 for drinking water taste and odor - This is a really good combination sediment and chlorine reduction filter. It's important to keep sediment out of your water your water softener as well. This filters down to 10 microns whereas the FXHTC is down to 25 microns. The lower the micron rating; the more sediment is reduced. Because this filter reduces more sediment, it will need to be changed more often.

GAC-BB water filter and Pentek GACBB drinking water filters 155153 for 10 inch Big Blue whole house housings - The granular activated carbon filter is really good for chlorine reduction as well. It filters more chlorine than the FXHTC. The flow rate might be slightly less than the FXHTC since that has the radial flow.

Culligan RFC-BBS water filter, Pentek RFC-BB replacement filters, and Ametek RFCBB filter cartridges 155141 - The RFC-BB is the same radial flow carbon as the FXHTC filter. The Culligan brand is less expensive than the GE brand so I would get the RFC-BB before the FXHTC. This filter also reduces sediment down to 25 microns.
