Is there a better substitution for the Culligan D10 eg replacing
the d30 with d40?

You can use the D-30 or the D-40 in place of the D-10. They are all the
same size. The reason we don't recommend that on our site is because the
flow rate slows down a lot. If you are using the D-30 or the D-40, they
remove a lot more contaminants so the water comes out slower. We
recommended having a separate drinking water faucet with these two
filters.
