Whole House Water System using P5-20 Filters

For my whole house water system I've been using (ordering) the P5-20 filters and noticed that the P1-20 is the same size and will filter down to 1 micron. Also, if I'm reading the charts correctly, it looks like the flow rate is the same for both.
What's the upside/downside of the P1 versus the P5? Maybe having to change the P1 more frequently?
My water source is a natural spring and contains fine dirt and sand particles (and lord knows what else). I change the filter every 1-2 months.
Out of the filter I have an ultraviolet.
Maybe the P5 is perfectly adequate...what'd you think?

I wanted to find out if I can configure a set up with 20" big blues to eliminate chloramine, fluoride and have good drinking water. I was planning to buy both ro system and a whole house system but I want to save money if I can and just get one. Already, I was planning to buy a chloromine filter but what other filter do you recommend for drinking water and eliminate fluoride? I am not so concerned about hard water.

Thanks.

Aqua Flo Filter needing Filter Cartridge

I have an aqua flo filter installed in my water system just before the water goes into the house distribution system. I have never had a cartridge in it as it was only to serve as an access point to sanitize the system. However, I am experiencing difficulty with my main filters and am getting a bad smell. I would like to get an activated carbon cartrige for this filter to reduce the smell until I can get my sediment and taste and odour filters re-bedded. I believe, from the pictures on your website, the filter is a WVIH34. Could you advise which filter cartridge I need and if there are any sources around Ottawa Ontario?

I was just inquiring to see if you might have a filter cartridge that would work for my application. I have an ultrasonic parts cleaner that has a 2 stage water filter system similar to one you would use in your house. The problem I have though is that we are cleaning parts that have a fairly heavy water-soluble oil and plugs up those filters very quickly. The other problem is we run it at about 130 to 150 degree's and those filters just wont stand up to that heat. Please let me know if you have something that might work.
