Culligan Self Cleaning Filter

I have a Culligan Self Cleaning Filter S# T05008766 and control box (S# 6689 1004L4) that controls the filter. This control box has a piston. The Culligan man replaced the piston about a year ago, and it broke again. I need to replace this piston but I do not have a part number for it, so I was hoping that by providing the above information I would be guided in the right direction. I have found that Culligans prices are very high, and I can replace the parts myself. If you could help in this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a water treatment system. The "filter cannister" is FLOTEC from Delaware, Wisconsin (USA) 53115. Model No. FPWF - FH1. WC 27-221L. Temp 100 degrees, and 125 P.S.I. I need a plastic wrench that will loosen and re-tighten the cannister after I have changed the filter (OMNI RS1-DS). I have a metal wrench and it "eats up" the plastic housing. Please help me find a suitable wrench. And is the cannister supposed to be "so very tight" that it takes a wrench to tighten / loosen? Thanks for your suggestions.

RO new or older system?

Hi, I'm not too well versed on this stuff so bare with me please...

I have a Honeywell 9100 RO system from about 12 years ago. It says it's rated for 1000 gallons on the side and I think I used about that much with the original filters that came with it. If I want to get it going again do you think I need to replace the 4th stage (membrane) that says it only needs to be changed every 2 to 7 years? Could there be something that went bad with it in storage over the last 12 years?

Also, I'm guessing the rating on the whole filter system (1000 gal) was for the filter that needed to be replaced first. I've noticed that replacement filters online say: Stage 1 - every 3 to 6 months, Stage 2 - 6 to 12, Stage 3 - 12 to 24, and Stage 5 - 6 to 24 months. Do you think I need to do all of them if I only ran 1000 gallons through it 12 years ago? Do they go bad over time?

Finally, given that technology changes quite a bit in 12 years is there something better I should use for household drinking and my salt water fish tank? Are RO filters better nowadays? Maybe another type of filtration? I don't have a lot of dough (laid off) so I'm looking for the cheaper solution first.

Oh, one more thing... this is a 5 stage system, is there a diagram that tells me where the stages are and how it all should be plumbed? Just to make sure I put the replacement filters in the right spot and check the tubing.

I know this is a lot but thanks for responding...
