Default Everpure H-300 Replacement Filter

I recently purchased an Everpure H-300 Replacement Filter from you and I have a quick question regarding the old used filter -
Where can I dispose it? Can it be recycled?

Water Filters & Replacement Water Filter Cartridges for Culligan, Everpure, Samsung, Pur, Brita, Pentek, GE, and more

"Thank you for your recent inquiry about the recyclability of your used Everpure filtration cartridge. At Everpure, we share your concern about the environment and strive to promote a greener tomorrow through both recycling and waste reduction.
Everpure's in-home water filtration systems provide customers with premium-quality drinking water while offering a more cost-effective and economically "green" alternative to bottled water. Producing plastic bottles requires many natural resources, including the oil to manufacture the plastic and expensive transportation costs. And almost 90 percent of all plastic water bottles distributed in this country every year end up in landfills, where they can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade. By using an Everpure filtration system and refilling your own water bottle, you are already cutting back on these numbers. In addition, Everpure's filtration cartridges need only be replaced once a year and can be safely discarded along with your regular trash.
At Everpure, our goal is to incorporate recycled materials into the manufacturing process at every possible point. Everpure uses partially recycled metals in the fabrication of the filtration cartridges and partially recycled materials in all of our packaging and shipping materials. In addition, we reuse any and all scrap material resulting from the manufacturing process.
We have spent much time researching options for recycling Everpure filtration cartridges. At this time, we have concluded that such a program would be more costly to the environment than having our customers dispose of the cartridges on their own. The weight and contents of the filled cartridges would necessitate special packaging and shipping, resulting in additional resource consumption through packaging materials and fuel for shipping trucks – ultimately a bigger toll on the environment.
However, should you wish to take an extra step as an environmentally responsible citizen, please visit the local resources page of the National Recycling Coalition Web site at National Recycling Coalition - Local Resources. There you will find links to individual state recycling resources. You may also contact your city or county government offices for information on local recycling centers that accept filtration cartridges.
At Everpure, we believe that delivering high-quality water through filtration of unwanted contaminants, tastes and odors provides a significant health benefit to our customers, and we remain committed to making as small an environmental footprint as possible. Thank you again for your inquiry, and we appreciate and share your concern. "

Thank you,
