Default Big Blue Filter

I am confused concerning the appropriate filter cartridge for my Culligan installed whole house system. I have narrowed the choices to the following:
DGD-5005-20, DGD-7525-20 or DGD-2501-20. In the past I have just called Culligan and said , "Send me a Big Blue filter." What have they been sending me? Can you shed some light?

Is this well or treated water? What are you trying to remove from the water? Are you confident you need the 20" x 4.5" cartridge size?

Thank you,

Bad taste. Particles which clogged filters in washing machine, faucets, etc. That's all I know.
Is the 4.5 dimension the radius ? If not , 4.5 is not near big enough. It is probably twice that size.

Bad taste is usually dealt with by a carbon filter of some sort. The 4.5" dimension is the diameter. See this cartridge for excellent carbon filtration with low pressure drop: RFC-20BB water filter and Pentek RFC20-BB carbon filters 155247 with granular activated carbon
