Default Culligan RFC-BB--- filter light tan color

Culligan RFC-BB. I changed my filter and a week later the outside of the filter was a light tan color. I took it out but the water wasn't dirty. Do they turn color when they are first used?

There is microscopic sediment in the water (not visible to the human eye) being trapped in the outside layer, which is causing the color change. If you didn't experience a major pressure drop, that filter still has a long life ahead of it.

Thank you,
