Default Best filter for the QMP603?

Hello,
I'm planning on purchasing the QMP603 and would like to use the best filter possible (I have a chlorinated municipal water supply). I see that you have mentioned the Pentek CBR2-10R filter. I've read that KX Matrikx filters are of high quality. It looks like the KX Matrikx +Pb1 06-250-125-975 is similar to the Pentek in terms of specifications. Would you recommend one of these over the other? Is there a better model/brand I should consider?

Thank You

The 2 filters you are comparing are very similar. The KX Matrix will reduce lead for 500 gallons more than the CBR2-10, however, the CBR2-10 will reduce chlorine for a significantly larger volume of water, up to 20,000 gallons compared to the KX Matrix 6000 gallons. Either way you slice it, these are 2 excellent quality filters. If I was concerned with lead I might choose the KX Matrix, if lead was not my first concern, I would go with the CBR2-10. With either filter Aquaman would drink your water, and your neighbors will be knocking at your door with empty gallon jugs.
