Default American Plumber Whole House Water Filter System (mo WVC34)

I have an American Plumber Whole House Water Filter system, model WVC34. Is there a scale reducer filter that I could use with that system? I am having a problem with hard water, which is clogging the coils in my boiler/furnace. The furnace repair tech is suggesting an in-line scale reducer filter system, and instead of another set-up, could I just use the current American Plumber housing and substitute the actual filter? The American Housing filter I have been using is W20CL. Since I got the American Plumber filter to try to help with the hard water problem, and it didn't, I was hoping that I could find a scale reducer filter that would do the trick. Thank You.

P.S. The plumber (and the bill) show up on Tuesday am EDST, so any help by then would be greatly appreciated.

This polyphosphate cartridge will fit into your existing filter housing. PCC-1 phosphate crystal water filter and Pentek PCC-1 hexametaphosphate crystal filters 155100

It will add polyphosphate to your water, which will inhibit the capacity of mineral hardness to precipitate onto all metal surfaces. It is a sequestering agent that will neutralize the mineral hardness, while not removing it. It is as simple a solution as you will find without adding a water softener.

Thank you,
