Default American Plumber W2015-PR Heavy Duty Water Filter Housing

I currently have a dense filter inside of my American Plumber W2015-PR Heavy Duty Water Filter Housing and the water pressure has dropped significantly. I'm looking for a filter that will allow the most water flow. I think I need a pleated filter but not sure what the micron count means and which one will allow the most water flow. Can you help?

The quick and easy answer is any filter with a higher micron rating. Like the WPX100BB20P 100 micron, but the more complicated answer is that you will significantly reduce the quality of the filtration by doing this. If you have a really tight filter (i.e. 5 micron) it will clog rapidly because it's doing all the work. Water that suffers from sediment issues, may need 3 or 4 housings with successively tighter filters to spread the work load out. A 100 then a 50, then a 10, and then a 1 micron for example, this will significantly increase filter life, and flow rates will remain consistent for longer periods of time this way. Depending on the amount and size of the sediment you are dealing with, you may be able to do 3 or even 2 housings, but a single housing is almost never enough to get the job done.

Thank you,
