Default Re: Bag Filter for Deep Well

Bag filters are usually used in situations requiring high flow rates, but they can be used in a variety of situations. Regular polypropylene bags are only about 60% efficient at removing the particle size they are designed for, but Nylon bags are better at 80%, and there is a high efficiency polypropylene bag that reaches 98% efficiency. Depending on your situation you will want to choose accordingly. It is very common to have 2 or 3 housings in series with successively smaller micron filters in each housing to do a really good job of filtering. If you were to use just one 1 micron bag, it would clog very rapidly, because it's capturing every size particle, but if you had a 50 micron followed by a 10 micron, followed by a 1 micron, each filter is going to live much longer because it's only filtering a very narrow range of particle size. This is the best way to set up a system.

Here is a link to our bag housings page, and if you scroll down you will find the filter bags also. Bag Filters and Bag Vessel Assembly Housings for Filter Bags.
