Is the sediment coming from within the hot water heater? If not, you might be better off putting a sediment filter right before the hot water heater. It would not be necessary to even have a hot water system. The normal systems would work fine.

If the sediment is coming from the hot water heater, I would think it would be better for you to put the sediment filter right after the hot water heater than for you to just put it at the dishwasher. Otherwise the sediment will get in all of your other fixtures and plumbing. Here are the hot water housings and cartridges:
