Default Culligan IC-750 leaking--better choice?

I have been trying to get the Culligan IC-750 I bought from you installed and I'm having problems.

I tried nylon tubing with compression fittings first and they leaked at the filter housing. Then the nylon blew out of the fitting entirely!

Then I got some braided hose with rubber o-ring fittings and tried that. Same problem, leaking at the plastic male fittings on the filter housing. I tried just snugging them down as well as really tightening. No luck.

So I'm wondering if the problem is that the filter housing is plastic. I have pretty high water pressure.

Is there a filter housing available that is metal? The IC-750 with the IC-1000 filter did a great job of filtering out the off tastes in my water, so I'd like to stay with that level of filtering.

Thanks! -Jon
